Lori McIsaac Bewsher, MSW, RSW,

Owner and Clinical Lead

Guided by the belief that “the essence of trauma is disconnection from the self, and healing is reconnection,” Lori is a trauma therapist passionate about helping people process the impact of painful past experiences so they can live more fully in the present. She draws from a blend of EMDR, Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), and Internal Family Systems (IFS) to create healing plans tailored to each individual. Her approach is collaborative, responsive, and grounded in the belief that change is always possible, even when it does not feel that way.

Lori specializes in trauma and its effects, including emotional dysregulation, anxiety, chronic stress, boundary challenges, and low self-worth, and works especially with clients navigating the long-term impact of early emotional neglect and attachment wounds. She works with adults (18+) living with the effects of trauma that may have occurred in childhood, relationships, workplace stress, or critical incidents, including veterans, first responders, injured workers, and others who may not identify with a specific trauma but know something feels unresolved or “off.” Her therapeutic work incorporates EMDR, ART, Internal Family Systems, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.

Lori offers in-person sessions in Saint John and virtual services across New Brunswick. She is currently not accepting new therapy clients and provides services in English. She holds a Master of Social Work from Dalhousie University and is a Certified EMDR Therapist and EMDRIA-Approved Consultant. Her training also includes Accelerated Resolution Therapy (Basic Training) and a Certificate in Applied Internal Family Systems from Adler College. Many of Lori’s clients have engaged in therapy previously and gained helpful insights but still feel stuck in patterns they cannot quite shift. Through trauma-focused, body-based work, she supports clients in accessing and releasing trauma held in the body, developing greater compassion for their experiences, and finding a path forward that feels genuinely healing.
